Where in a loft conversion the 2m headroom required on a landing is not achievable it is acceptable for reduced headroom of 18m minimum at the lowest and 19m minimum on the centre line of the stairs -.
Handrails Balustrades The top of the handrail needs to be between 900-1000mm from pitch line. All landings should be completely level. The width of the landing shall not be less than the stairway width and a minimum of 600 mm clear of cross-traffic door swing or any other structure.
